Zup everyone.

Today i'm gonna try the seafoam treatment on My 94 Mazda B4000. I used appx 1/2 in fuel tank and the other 1/2 in through the brake booster vac line. I had my wife rev it continuously at 2k-3k rpm. I used a flexible straw in the can of seafoam and covered half the vac line with my thumb. Once I put the tip of the straw towards the vac line it immediately started pulling out the liquid. At first there was some smoking but it only lasted a couple of minutes then the smoke disappeared. I then shut the engine off and will wait for ten minutes before driving it. I chose not to use any in the crankcase because that would mean that I have to change the oil within 100 miles of use and I don't feel like doing that right now.
I did this as a result of a pinging sound in the engine when accelerating up hill.

Well, I took the Mazda out for a nice drive and mashed on the gas a few times and floored it to knock the dust off. I had it going passed the last set of digits on the speedometer. It still felt smooth. The pinging sound dissipated by a noticeable degree. There is a still a little pinging at around 65 and 80 mph but, as for the latter, I'm not going to go that fast for a while. The sea foam seemed to help. I will try it in the oil when I get ready for an oil change. That way I can get it out of the engine as I heard it can be bad if left in there for a time.

The proper way to use the seafoam is get the engine hot and at an idle slowly pull half a can in the engine and immediately shut it off let it sit for at least 1/2 an hour and then start it and rev it up until it stops smoking. The more it smokes the more carbon was in there. If you rev it while your putting it in it don`t get a chance to soak into the crap in there. I say put half in the oil and treat the motor again when you do the oil change just for giggles.

i love seafoam, the more you use the better it works, come to think of it, i need to use it again

What is this seafoam you're talking about, and what does it do to the engine?
I've seen it mentioned several times on the forum.

Seafoam comes in a metal can that is white with red lettering.I have seen it sold at most auto parts places including Napa and Autozone, I think Walmart may carry it. It is 100% petroleum product according to their bottle and website. I personally use it in pretty much all my equipment: Chainsaw, woodsplitter, ranger, and the Bronco II works good to help clean out carb on small engines especially. Hope this helps!
