NO. The little T5 you're looking at will last mere seconds behind even the mildest V8.
only true if you launch hard from a stop and go way past the torque rating. hell, you can bust a 5.0 T5 just as easy. the main shaft and syncro's are the worst parts of these things. such fragile little things haha.
I actually happen to have a T5 from an 89 2.3 mustang behind my single turbo 5.0 mustang right now.
only thing I had to do was put in a different pilot bearing due to the diameter of the 4cylinder t5 input shaft.
I dont visit the drag strip, nor do I do stoplight burnouts so breaking it really isnt a problem for me.
my favorite is being able to pass whatever I want after I'm already going.
the 4-banger T5 actually has better gearing and a better OD gear which I saver since I do a lot of highway driving.
oh yeah, and they're all over my u-pull yard and cost me $75 to pull which is why I have a pile of spares in my garage
