Hey, so i got to thinking, this might be a dumb question, but is there any reason why i couldnt just insert the end of the hi-lift jack into my hitch receiver and jack from there? can the receiver handle the weight? im not talking about for long jobs, but like in an emergency?

should work just fine, its as strong as a lift point as you can get. but cause the hitch receiver is in the middle of the truck it could tip and pop the jack out.

You need to be sure it won't slip out.
You will also find the truck will fall over sideways because the jack base is wobely (speeld right???).

i saw a couple weeks ago a bracket that you can weld onto a bumper or what have you and it is made just for using a high lift. it fits right into it and has a little tab cut out of it for the tip of the jack to kind of lock into.

it may just be easier to use one of these: a hi lift bumper lifter for curved bumpers
