At my last oil change, I sent out a sample for analysis.

First time and likely the last time I will ever do this. For the cost of 3-4 oil changes, I found that my engine is wearing slightly less than average and the oil had some life left at 10k miles. Whoopee.

Anyways, here you go. It was my 2002 3.0L, 10k miles and 5 months on Harvest King 10W-30 synthetic with a Bosch 3422 filter.

Cost the same as 3-4 oil changes? Dang. I'll analyze my own. If it doesn't come out chunky, must be good.

I get one done once a year but I dont do the TBN test because I change it every 3,000 miles anyway. I think its 27 without the TBN test. I did it just to test different oil types. I ran mobil one for a while and when I switched to pennzoil ultra my wear numbers went down so now I stick with that.

Damn Walmart supertech synthetic has been the best by me. Or liqui moly

Honestly? Have yet to be impressed with a Mobil product. Supertech, certified, liqui moly, and shell synthetic have been the top performers for me.

The certified stuff is weird AF. Weird turquise color.

Last I got one it cost $27. After a number of them years ago trying different oils I settled on Pennzoil Platinum and I just get a UOA every year and a half to keep an eye on the engine.

I just did my oil analysis. It’s a 1990 2.9L I track race. Looks like that 302 swap may be needed sooner than later.

That's normal for a 2.9...

That's normal for a 2.9...
:icon_rofl: It says listen for knock or other noises from a 2.9L!!! Even the oil analysis company knows.

Curious what they would diagnose my poor 2.9 with...

Even a knocking 2.9 is superior to a 3.0.
