Hey guys!

I got some sad news about a close friend today. At about 11:30 this morning (5/9/10) he went into hospice care.

The guy is just over 75 yesrs old (but sometimes acts like he's still 25), and I have learned a great deal about working on vehicles from him, as well as laughed my butt off with him on may occasions. He is a near & dear family freind, and has been in slow decling health for a few years now.

All I ask is for your prayers and thoughts to be with him, his lovely wife of 20years, and their children and grandchildren, as well as those who know him well.

Thanks guys!

Thank you brother.

My parenent went to visit the friend. It could be hours or days. Either way, when he passes, I KNOW FOR SURE that they'll be one more angel looking down from the "great garage in the sky."

Update:

At about 4:30 EST this morning (5/10/2010) my friend passed away. My family got the call at about 5 AM.

Thank you for your thoughts & prayers. Please continue to pray for the friends & family.

It's gonna be a rough week, and I thank you for your support.

Sorry to hear about your lose. Just remember that he is in a better place and still will be helping you wrench away from above. Have a few cold ones in his memory. :icon_cheers:

Will do. This gentlemen not only was not only a great friend and machanic, but also served our great country as a US Marine during the Korean War.

It is true. He is in a better place. I had the honor of being at his baptism about 12 years ago, and laughing with him on many occasions.

A number of years ago, he restored a '48 Chevy truck from the ground up in his garage. I remember the smile on his face when he took it out and saw all the kids smile as it drove by.

He was simple man who had a great love of truck, animals, and helping those in need.

And that is how you should keep his memory a live. Remembering all the small things that made him unique. Do all us veterans a favor, myself included, make sure he is buried with honors? The man served in the Korean Conflict and deserves that much. Find his DD214, Discharge Papers, and go see your local recruiter. They should know what to do. I know that is how I would like to be buried.

I belive his wife & kids are handeling that. I'm sure they'll do it correctly.

My condolences. My family and I will pray for strength and comfort for his family, and to that God for his service.

Thank you my friend. This was the guy who helped me rebuild my first engine, a 305 SB Chevy. If I had to put all memories of him in a book, you'd need a forklift to pick it up.

all prayers go to you i know how it goes when you lose a good friends that was there for you in the garage when you needed help on a truck or anything.
