after searching high and low in parts stores, I finally found a saginaw pump to direct interchange with the ford pump. I dont know what its application is, only the part number.

the pressure line from the ford pump goes into it... and In this case i used the stock pully from the old pump.. it pressed on all the way and ended up being a tiny bit too far back, but i dont think its an issue.

this was completely a bolt in, direct swap.

interesting... whats the part number? price?

ill have to go grab the box, i dont know it off hand.. but it was $49.99 from advance auto.

A part number would be nice for those of us that need to replace our pumps in the very near future. Thanks.

its advance auto PN 20-6244

Thanks for the info. I just searched the advance auto website and the ten nearest stores don't have this pump in stock. Guess I'll try autozone next.

this thread has a little bit more info and a napa part number, holyford86 in that thread said he also got his at advance for $47 plus core. when the pics were up it looked just like nmb2's pump did. when I get some free cash I want to throw one in my explorer, I hate the whining and turning the wheel when its cold out is tougher it seems.

interesting..I searched long and hard and never found anything, wish i would of.. could of saved some time. Oh well.

yeah, sometimes the search function doesn't work too well on here. it either wont show up for me at all or it'll give me like 5 unrelated threads. I remembered his budget build and that thread he made for the pump info so I just searched his posts. did your hydro assist setup eat up the factory pump or was it a preemptive replacement?

That pump is no longer produced as far as I know. there are some stores that have remnant stock. You might get lucky.

autozone didnt have the pump, but napa, oreilly, advance all listed it. I just went with advance because their warehouse had it and it was next morning shipping.

its Full hydro not hydro assist for starters, and no it didnt eat up the pump, it was more of a preemptive replacement yes, and PSC recommended i dont use the ford pump. The difference between the two is obvious sitting still, there is no pump wine, when i turn the wheel it doesnt bog the motor and its a little bit stronger.
