I'm gathering parts for the 10" rear brake upgrade on my 91 Ranger V-8.
Is there any reason why backing plates from a 95 wouldn't work?
I haven't had any luck locating 90 to 94 10" backing plates.

Thanks,
Mike

As long as both axles are the same and have the same spline count on the axle shafts, they will be fine.

10" drum backing plates can come off any 28-spline Ranger rear axle.

OR off any 10" drum brake equipped Aerostar.

the backing plates off an FX4Level 2 are identical to 90-94 Explorer drum
backing plates and mount wiht a different bolt pattern.

THANK YOU Allan!!! I picked up a new pair of '95 backing plates from my Ford parts dept today, just over $56... so clean and purdy, (stamped Bosch). My drums and shoes will be here next week along with my 7.5 Trac loc and 3.73 gear set. Getting excited about upgrades. BTW thanks also for answering my master cylinder question in the "Sticky".

Mike

Yeah, I locked all the stickies because people keep posting on them and my eyes slide right over the sticky posts looking for "new" questions.
