Universal joint replacement

Hello, fellow Ford Ranger enthusiasts. I want to replace both my front and rear U-joints on my driveshaft (1996 2.3l RWD). Looking at various parts sites, it seems like these joints are interchangeable, so I could order two of the same item. But I haven't seen that explicitly stated anywhere. Could anyone tell me if there's any difference at all between the front and rear U-joint?

So I'm not finding any joints that are listed as being for the front/transmission side on a RWD, any tips for locating the part?

Look on Rock Auto. They list which joints fit each part of the shaft. I just looked.

Rock is where I looked. The very first listing says "this joint fits all positions on a 2 joint shaft" or something to that effect.

They are the same. I just replaced mine 1994 mazda b2300 2.3l 2wd

Fair enough. I actually went back to the listing at my local parts store and noticed what I somehow didn't before - it did specify 'at rear axle/at transmission' when I scrolled down. Maybe I had too many bourbons.
