I have a vibration around 90-100 k at FRONT driveshaft I believe. Yesterday I bought a new ujoint and cap bolt package. I noticed that the ujoint seemed to be larger than the front one. (Had driveshaft off repacking bearings with grease and did loose few needle bearings. ) the new kit that came with 4 bolts and 2 caps doesn't have the little lip on it like on the ones presently on vehicle. Like it's to stop bearing cap from sliding off or?? I'm just wondering if this aftermarket ujoint IS slightly bigger than original and therefore why new caps don't have that little lip on it. When I mentioned to jobber employee about it looking bigger, he said that this was the one that was listed. Was original joint smaller? For the life of me new one seems slightly bigger.

what part number & brand is the new U joint?
pics usually help.
is the CV joint smooth? if they get a dry ball expect lots of vibration.

I compared specs and they're the same. I guess it's my eyesight going . Thanks for the reply,appreciated

Multiple sites say that part fits at the front axle connection. So, I'd say it's good.

the yolk has tabs to retain the caps so tabs on the straps are not needed..
