Under drive pulley???

Just a few questions:

1) Are they worth the money?

2) Do I have to get an under drive pulley to replace each pulley under the hood or can I get away with just replacing the crank pulley or will this not have the same effect?

3) Since the under drive pulley slows down the accessory pulleys, does this mean your alternator does not put out the same amperage as it would with stock pulleys?

4) Has anyone used them and had a noticable difference in Hp?

5) And if anyone has used them can you recommend a good/affordable brand?

there is only 1 brand for the 4.0......I recommend getting it from Wayne at www.stuffforyourranger.com .......great guy to work with....tell him Maurice recommended you....


I have one on my truck and I believe it is the single greatest engine mod I have done....I could tell a difference......

You will want to get the alternator pulley also....it is a smaller Alt pulley that speeds the Alt back up to what it would run with the stock crank pulley......

You will not need the water pump pulley......the temps in my truck hasn't changed since I put the UDP on my truck.....

What about my power steering? I have way oversized tires on my truck and need all the steering power I can get. So how much effect will the under drive pulley have on my steering ability?

your power steering will be fine....i have 35's on my truck with it and haven't seen a difference in turning...
