Don't look much like a "truck" to me. A little to fancy for my taste. Plus u would get hung up on a twig with the fucking thing. Just my opinion.

The 6.5' bed option with the Supercrew makes it look pretty long, it should be about the same height as the existing truck, from what I understand the new one is just a more refinded version of what we already have.

The 6.2L should take care of that next year...

is it just me or does it kinda look similar to a tundra??? hopefully it will have a diesel, bought damn time that ford stepped up and gave us at least one...

Thats funny, I always thought that the Tundra looked like the Fords! :stirthepot:

The new Dodge Ram has that grill that leans forward a little, sort of like the 70's F series. Not a bad looking truck. Still a Mopar though.

I saw that truck, looks pretty um, well, unique. They also anounced a light duty cummins for it. I sure hope ford pulls the rabbit out of the hat soon and gives us the diesel and starts thinking better. The motors in the new f150 are real old technology, over 10 years now.

More like 4 years old, they were changed extensively in 2004 when the 3-valve engines came out with an extra valve and variable valve timing. If you do your homework right the first time, you don't need a completly new engine everytime you want more power, just tweek with the one you have.

It is really kind of annoying, over 3 months since the unveiling and they still haven't released the ratings of the engines though.

Ford is coming out with a in house diesel in 2010 for the F-150, rumor has it since the 6.4 won't pass the next emissions hit and for the grief Navistar is giving them they are working on their own engine for the Superduty as well.

I would take an FX4 in a heartbeat, way better looking (and performing) than the existing trucks. Pictures don't do it justice, they look much better in real live (they had one here at a car show a couple months ago)

i am a mechanic at a ford dealership in bakersfield, and there is a rumor goin around that in either '09 or '10 they are going to be putting the diesel in the f-150. it is the same motor that is in the lcf (basically a 6.0 that they chopped two cylinders off)

No the 4.4 (the latest release I have seen) is a completly Ford build engine, Navistar (maker of the old 6.0 or 6.4) has nothing to do with it. Actually the 4.4 was adapted from a european Land Rover engine. Rumor has it that Ford is working on an in house 6.7 diesel for the F-250+ trucks as well, which I can't say that I blame them for the way Navistar has jerked them around in the last couple years..

There are so many rumors floating around about it that is a mess.

i like all f-150s from 78-2003. favorites would be the 92-96 ones. i never liked the new ones, they look all "modern" styled. the new ones look like the 04-current ones with a new front. looks like they are making it look like the superduties, which i also don't care for.
"5.4-liter 3-valve Triton, a new 4.6-liter 3-valve, and a 4.6-liter 2-valve unit mated to either a 4-speed or 6-speed automatic transmissions."

no stick? i dont' think i'll own anything auto ever again. ya wont see me owning a f-150 anytime soon. Ranger till the day it dies

The only way you have been able to get the manual since 1997 was with a 4.2 or 4.6, and you only got maybe 1 or two mpg better than a 5.4 with an automatic, not worth the hassle IMO but whatever floats your boat.

my dads 4.2 auto is harder on gas then my friends 5.4 auto

(yea i dont know where that really fits in) lol

no the retro mustang was good, if they do a retro on the 73-79 fords then they will screw it up, i hope they dont, all it will be is a look somewhat cool pussified versian of a truck...

couldn'r agree with you more, had a 79 with a 300 in line six and a c4 tranny couldn't kill that thing even after rolling it twice, should have never got rid of it. To late now though.
