I bet it fizzles out now. The whole awsomeness of pirate is the ability to say anything to anyone anytime and not get banned.
Lance says its not going to change, but it will. When it does, whoever has an "open" forum like pirate used to be will be the new winner.

Thats the glory of pirate. Everone is 10ft tall and bullit proof on there. I love readin all the smart ass comments and just overall rudeness. Its a blast!
I HOPE it never changes, but im afraid it will.
There is sooooo much hard core tech on there. Id hate to lose it.

Yep, stick a fork in it, Pirate is done.

This same company bought Dodgeintrepid.net back in 2007. It was a complete shitstorm of axing the mods and crapping on the regulars. I mentioned adblock plus after the Ad infusion and was told to retract the statement. I did not, and I was banned and the admin instead of just deleting my post went in and edited it so that read I was in support of the site and retracted my comment... The core people that made DI.net (most were banned for similar bull crap) formed LHforums.net to replace DI.net. If you go take a look at DI.net now, it is horrible. ads are all over the place, you have to register to even see any of the tech stuff.

I give Pirate until the middle of this year...(I don't think Pirate will go away, but all the people who made it awesome will, and it will never get that back.)

According to what i have been reading, nothing much is going to change. They will still have the same mods and admins.
Its a very bold move and i hope that it does work out well. It would be a bad thing to see such a major resource lost to the 4x community.
We will see.

This was the same propaganda they shoveled onto DodgeIntrepid.net. "no changes, we are keeping admins... business as usuall....." 3 months later told a different story.
