my u-joint flew apart and broke the yoke bolted to the rearend got another yoke but it seems that the u-joint will have to be a half an inch shorter on one part of the u-joint to fit my driveshaft. any help in solving this problem? 88 4x4 2.9

check the driveshaft to see if it got bent, and if the 'shaft is too short, it will pull out the required 1/2 inch. Also means you need to grease the 'shaft splines. I also think that the double cardan 'shafts are different sized, but I don't know for sure.
