Two transmissions??

Could you guys explain to me how to put two transmissions together? I've seen someone do it to their own ranger on here before. I just wanted the collective brain power of TRS to help me figure out the advantages/disadvantages to a crazy set up like that. Any and all advice is much appreciated.

I have seen transfercases stacked before but not transmissions.

i've seen a video of a guy with an international truck that he put a NP435 after an automatic haha. it just takes an adapter

look at Gwaiis' ranger refit thread, its on the first page.

Its like the case-splitter trannies in the big rigs. It just gives you more ranges. So instead of 3rd-direct or 3rd-over, you'd have 3rd-under, under direct over etc etc etc.
