My buddy has a 94 ranger with the 2.3. Two of the plugs from one coil pack are not firing. He replaced the coils, plugs, wires and computer and sell the same problem. I have done some searches and have seen other posts with this problem but they never came back and posted what was wrong with it. Does anyone have any ideas in whats wrong?

Well, every part of the circuit has been replaced except the primary wiring from the coil pack to the computer.

That might be a good place to look next.

There's a spot in the wiring harness where it runs off the lower plug of the amplifier (bolted to the front of the lower intake manifold) where the harness runs down next to the engine
(near where the distributer would be on an older 2.3) where the harness MELTS and wires can short out.

I dealt with TWO 2.3 Mustangs with that problem the dealer was convinced the first one was possessed.

I've seen the same problem on one DPIS2.3 Ranger
