i doubt ill be lifting the body. ill just get the suspension down to normal and measure for the biggest tires i can do.

but i just screwed up a wheel bearing!!!! driving in this semi rural area at night, i hit some train tracks about 40mph. BAM i hit hard. didnt think much of it though until i start hearing a hum..... that notorious wheel bearing hum

i drove it on the freeway the next day and the noise went away. but i must have damaged it because a few days later the noise is back, and its definitely a wheel bearing.

i dont know what side yet though. its not loud enough. ill find out in the next few hundred miles im sure though.

its never ends....

I'd jack one wheel off the ground & hand-rotate it/check for play/noise.....if it sounds O.K................

then you know to change the other one exactly one minute before you ruin a spindle.

I wish mine had a radio. Previous owner tried to install an aftermarket deal and butched the harness. I need to find a junkyard Ranger with a radio so I can repair the harness and install a pigtail kit.

Not to steal your thunder there, but I haven't swapped tranny or motor. Regular oil changes, regular tune up, the only thing I can mark on that list are a ball joint and a front tire with a bulge.

Congrats on repairs going well, but even that list seems a little long for my taste!
