in my mind ive always put its texture and grain next to that of a burlap bag or potatoe sack. i may be mistaken as the only tweed job i saw was about 5 years ago and even then it had been a few years since the trucks interior had been "new".

Tweed is a coarse wool or wool blend, thinks sport coat like material. I have seen a few custom interiors at some car shows. I thought I would try something along those lines just to freshen up the interior. Getting tired of the same interior after 19 years. The visors were the a little bit harder, had to get out a sewing machine. But it turned out decent.

Its a type of fabric, slightly rough to the touch. It was hot back in the 50s and 60s in hot rods, and again in the 80s and 90s with the mini-truck crowd. You can cover your entire interior with it. It looks pretty good if done well, dont know if it handles up to constant-usage though, fabrics do wear.

I like it. You did a good job and I allways think tweed puts an upscale look in an interior. It really looks good with walnut burl. Maybe find some wood pieces to add to set it off.

Thanks, I have thought about doing some more work to it. I have had the truck since it was new. And I just put power windows, locks and mirrors. Need new carpet, and a paint job too. But then again 19 years is a long time to wait and power everything up. I like the idea of adding some polished wood.
