My '92 ranger HATES moisture in the air. One day she'll start and the next day, if it's really humid, she'll turn over good and strong but refuses to fire. I just picked up new plugs and plug wires to put in her. I need some input on if you all think that this could be the problem...Moisture getting in the plug wires. The valve cover gasket was shot when I got her back in November, so we had that replaced right away, but there's oil all over the engine and the plug wires. What to you all think? Will this solve the problem? Thanks for your input. :dunno:

I'm going to say that new plug wires & plugs & cap and rotor are going to go a very long way towards getting this cured. more than likely completely cured...but ya never know.

Just for grins, if you haven't changed the plugs and wires yet, before you do it...go out at night, just after dark...start it up...no lights on and minimal light outside. open the hood , willing to guess that your going to see little stray static electricity running along the plug wires:icon_surprised:....kinda cool to see. But definitely confirms that the plug wires are done. If you don't see this...doesn't mean that the plug wires are good, just that they're not leaching electrical charge out of the insulation.

Hi rotor button and cap might be a good idea while your at it. If you dont see sparks like Imenriched said use a spray bottle of water and spray you wires coli and cap if it sparks while it is running you will find your leak.
