I'm having wiper issues and I believe I've got it narrowed down to the turn signal switch. If I push and twist the switch it will some times spray the washer fluid, but most of the time it doesn't work. Is there a fix for this other than buying a new switch?

One possibility is to open the end of the switch and clean it out. you then put dielectric grease (thin layer only) inside the switch. This may help.

  1. Remove the endcap (pry gently where the ridges end on the switch knob)
  2. Look inside and remove the screw / nut from the bottom of the cavity
  3. PLACE A SANDWICH BAG over the switch, pull the knob off the stalk. There is a VERY small spring and 2 detent balls that will pop out. You catch them in the bag or hunt for them for a few hours.
  4. Wipe down the grease (and dirt) from the knob. Pay special attention to the inside ridges of the knob, the contacts, and stalk. Clean it all.
  5. Put a small amount of the dielectric grease (bulb grease) where you have cleaned (and on the contacts)
  6. Put back together, keeping in mind the small parts

This MAY help, but doesn't cost money (unless you have to buy dielectric grease).

Well I tried the dielectric grease and that didn't work. I replaced the turn signal switch and that didn't work. I checked the relay and fuses and they all seem to be fine. I checked the lines and there doesn't seem to be ay cloggs anywhere, so I'm pretty much lost at this point. Before I changed the switch out the washer fluid would spray once in a great while, but it wouldn't last. Anybody have any suggestions?
