88 thunderbird ECM, and ranger runs sluggish. Get codes 22 and 54 KOEO and then 22 34 54 KOER. Replaced BP, TFI and it doesn't want to build boost but when it does it builds fast. I have the BIG VAm. Im lost

Well code 22 is the baro sensor, did you add one to your system? 54 is intake temp which I think is in the VAM but I don't remember

If all that's there I would verify you have those particular wires in the right spot

Hey uh... while we're figuring this out... where can we get some photos of this truck?

Scott you was right. Got the wiring redone. But it still is sluggish. 1 thing I have to replace clutch. I can't seem to get timing right. It doesn't want to run at 10. It likes it between 1-5.

New codes. KOEO. 54, 81, 82, 83, 84 I blocked egr so it doesn't have one. So 54 ACT out of range high, 81 air management cicuit 2 failure.
KOER
24 ACT out of range
41 HUGO lean
74 didnt recognized brake switch
77 didnt recognize WOT
The WOT I floored it and let off when 10 showed up on code reader so really don't k ow how to do it

Bruh I want your truck.

The hot ticket for clutch is the Centerforce stock replacement friction disc and their weighted pressure plate, I'm a fan... if you do a search for me and centerforce you'll likely find the part numbers, it's about $300 for those parts from Summit...

I don't know how sluggish you're talking but that's a lot of compressed air volume so you'll have some turbo lag, mine has some lag and I don't even have an intercooler... before boost it's just a N/A 8:1 compression 4 cylinder so not spunky...

It has a 308 rear end. Gonna get a 373 this weekend so hopefully it will spunk it up. I bought a LUK clutch and pressure plate. Wish I would have known centerfold was way to go.

I have no idea on turbo size, I ran the stock '85 turbo for several years and it ran fine for me, I found one at work that bolted up and that's what I'm running now but the seals are gone... I need to get a new one or rebuild one I have one of these days...

Bigger the turbo the slower it'll spool up

I ran a couple Luk clutches, worked fine but one of them only lasted like 15k miles but I don't think I replaced the flywheel or had it surfaced, don't remember that was almost 20 years ago...

Well if this LUK goes out centerforce will be next. I'm so use to driving my ecoboost f150 and daughter's bronco sport and thinking spool should be fast. I am turbo dumb about them. Thanks for the info, you have been a great help.
