As I posted in an earlier thread I'm going to do a swap from an 88 turbo coupe into my 92 supercab. I'm wanting to find out from anyone whos done this swap what kind of gas mileage you get for daily use when not running the truck hard.I know what kind of power gains there to be had but what about MPG???

my truck has some drag so isn't the most efficient, when it was N/A it got 19mpg regularly, with the turbo it gets 17 on a good day (it's had some issues in the last couple years where it got as low as 10), might get better now but it's pretty close to N/A mileage...

Totally not worth the work to me when you could get the same mileage and power from a 4.0 swap.

how do you figure it's more work than a 4.0? with the 4.0 you're gonna need everything you'd need for a turbo swap plus a transmission and motor mounts and a radiator and so on... seems to me the swap is about as straight forward as it gets...

I'm with Bryan on that, I'm getting about the same gas mileage as i did when I had the N/A 4 banger (I'm running 4.10 gears and getting about 15-17 mpg average) with twice the power!!!
