so past year ive been racing my 88 b2 in a tuff truck challenge that's been heald every 2 weeks.. so far its done AWESOME won every race but 2...
this year my pop picked up an 85 2.8 carbed.. i set it up identical to mine an hes held his ground right behind me.. well i recently picked up another 85 for parts had a manual tcase an drive shaft an some good use able body parts an what not.. took what i wanted then scrapped it.. well friday i picked up ANOTHER one.. 88. auto tranny an manual tcase.. put the tranny an tcase in my 88 race truck so now i have a good tranny.. the old one was missing reverse first gear was going park was messed up.. i wanna spice it up a little this year an throw every one for a loop so this is my plan.. with the 4th b2.
i traded my front bumper off the black truck for a 350 an tranny that i then traded for a fresh rebuilt 302.. 33s on f150 bolt pattern an some other lil goodies.. another guy has a early 90s f150 with a stright six. i heard that the tranny from a stright six will bolt up to a 302? all that needs to be done is change the flywheel. If this is true then i was planning on taking the drive shafts manual tcase an auto tranny for the new beast. i was also going to take the fw 8.8 rear axle an the front dana 44 ttb set up . is the b2 spring width the same as the f150 spring perch pads? an as far as the 44ttb i dont want to narrow it.. would it be possible to make this work as a full width set up? i was thinking maybe space the coil buckets out 3inchs or something along those lines. as far as my gas tank i picked up a 5 gallon keg that iam going to use. the hood is going to get cut out an a set of zumiez are going to be ran about 12inchs long...
As of right now the truck is COMPLETELY stripped.. engine bay is bare.. frame is bare so its gonna be a body frame and motor.. any little tricks that you fellas have would be greatly appreciated in helping this build go a bit smoother and quicker.
