one of my buddies has a set of 4.56 rear gears for his jeep days that he gave me. will they fit in a ttb35?

Serious? WHat kinda jeep is it. If it is a wrangler with the Dana35 for the jeep they 'should' fit just fine, Hahn you have a d35 with 4.56's, why would you post that they wont work?

Jeep D35=Low pinion. TTB D35=High pinion.

Jeep is a standard cut and the TTB 35 is reverse cut.

PHYSICALLY they can work, but alot of people are against running on the coast side of the gear. if its for a wheeler i say try it, free is for me as i always say, whats the worst that can happen, u have to order the right gears?

No they won't physically work.

have u tried this? i have....it bolted right in, i had to get a different pinion bearing and crush sleeve and used the heep detroit he had, i know it worked.....idk for how long, i no longer speak to the person whose truck it was done it....

and wouldnt suggest it for road use ever

The Low pinion gears will not physically mesh in a high pinion configuration. You can take a ring and pinion, put them on the work bench and try it, it doesn't work.

It was either an IFS D35 or the correct gears.

this is basically what i was wondering. i am not worried at all against running on the coast side as my truck is only a 4cyl and not wheeled as hard as say a 4.0 or 5.0 would be. but if they wont physically mesh i guess im up s**t creek on this idea.
