TTB Radius Arms. HELP!!!

I bought radius custom heim radius arms for my 4x4 Ranger. I'm running a 2" longer coil, Stx brackets, and stock width beams. The company that did my arms measured my truck to build the beams. They said they would have to kick them in to make it work with a stock coilbucket setup.

So I went to install my new radius arms and I ran into some problems:

The driver side beam, when attached to the beam, won't get in line with the frame and pivot bracket because it binds up on the fins of the third member and the bolt that holds it to the beam.

When I pull the beam back so it will line up into the bracket, the wheelbase is thrown way off. (This was done at ride height, not droop)

I took them back to the builder and they cleared out some of the material on the beam and suggested cutting out the fin on the third member and the beam to allow clearance. This still didn't work.

So my question is, does the beam need to be pushed in (toward the center of the truck) to clear the stock coil and shock?

I'm trying to get pics... Thanks

so I take it the diff fins are crashing with the passenger side(short beam) piviot on bump?

And your driver side radius arm ear wont clear the pinch bolt that holds the diff in to the beam?

It sounds to me like the company making your radius arms has no idea what they're doing. I'd take them back to them, and stick them up their @ss sideways.

On another note, are the arms extended at all? What makes you think you need custom arms for a 2" lift?

ya it sounds like the shop that fabed your arms had NO clue on what they were doing and just wanted your money, you dont need extended arms for a 2'' lift any ways. get your money back befor its to late.

Although the extended arms would be nice if you lift higher.... and this is the problem with custom work. It is difficult to do with out the vehicle there to test fit on.

They diffinatly don't have an idea of what they are doing, there is no need to remove fins from the 3rd member to clear the radius arms. All the other companies that build them don't have that problem. Take em back and get your money back before you end up hacking more off your truck.

belive I found your post on anouther board. are these your radius arms?

taking a guess, they look like they were made for extened beams, that are extened on the inside of the radius arm mount. reason I guess that is by how far the ear's are over the main section of the radius arm.

Maybe I'm missing something....how in the hell would that work as a TTB radius arm??

Yes to the drivers side, no to the passenger side. And thanks for putting up the pics.

The P/S arm barely gets in line with the frame and pivot bracket, and the D/S isn't even close. It does hit the pinch bolt on top and bottom as well as the fin (which are all ground down even!)

It's just weird because it's a reputable company, they were the ones who measured it out on my truck, and they've done tons of these before.

Thanks for the input everyone, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't off base to tell them I need the beams reworked or money back.

They bolt to a pivot bracket that is bolted to the frame between your tranny crossmember and body mount.

copycat, I think you hit it on the head about the d44.

after looking at mine, the pinch bolt is a little under the beam itself.and about 3/16 under the ear of the r/a.so no way should the pinch bolt be getting in the way.unless they ground the shit out of your beam to make the radius arm ear spacing fit the d35 that could have been intened for a d44 beam. d44 beams are thinner than the d35 beam.

here's my thoughts, you took them back once and being the "huge/big" fab shop they are, they should have caught that right off the bat.and FIXED the problem, not trying to rig it to fit.Id take them back get my money back. Then I would pick up the phone and call grampa I beam(john at autofab) and talk to him about a set of radius arms. After all he is the guy who invented the use of the highrider brackets in wheel travel kits. And knows how to get his stuff to work, and if for some reason a blunder happens with him he will fix it right away, not "rig" you along.

Well, the guy was a true professional and refunded the full amount. I talked to John about some arms and now I just want to pull out the visa and get the whole 44 kit!

Thanks for everyone's input.

good to hear he was a stand up guy and gave back your money.

lol I know what your saying about wanting to pull out the visa, the D44 kit is simply awsome.
