Well been doing a lot of research the past few days on leveling my 94 4x4. Read a lot of threads and not one has said the better way to go.... I have to buy new springs anyway since i have about 1.5 inches of sag on the drivers side and about an inch on the other. So should i just buy stock springs and add spacers or should i get 2 to 2.5 inch (from past projects 2 inches turns into 1.5 of a few months) leveling springs?

I would say that the rear springs would probably be sagged too, so new stock front springs might level the truck. But this is just a WAG. If you plan on replacing the rear springs anytime soon I would go for the 2" springs.

I'd do the 2" springs, then make it level with add a leaf, different leafs, or shackles... that way you might actually have 2" of lift when it's all said and done.

i already have adjustable helpers on the rear to kinda help with the sag but you can look at the front on level ground and see the front sagging....driving me nuts!

not to worried about lifting the rear, thats the easy part lol just mainly worried about leveling out the front

so do you want stock height or 2" lift?

2 inch lift in the front, the front sits about 1.5 lower in the front then the rear (give or take a 1/2")

I ran the skyjacker leveling coils in the front of my 93. They rode well and leveled in out nicely. They lasted longer than the stock coils too. Now I am on a 4" skyjacker lift.

2 inch lift in the front, the front sits about 1.5 lower in the front then the rear (give or take a 1/2")

yeah, but shouldn't NEW stock coils regain that height?

so will 2" springs lift you just 2" more than what you have now, or 2" over stock (4" over what you have now). understand?

I was goin off factory specs, its 1.5" lower then the rear now, 3.5 inches lower then factory specs. my fault should have been more specific. basically what I'm asking is would I be better off with paying a few extra bucks for taller springs or buying factory spring and adding spacers

Well for simplicity's sake, if you are going to replace the springs anyways, i would get the taller springs. less hassle of putting in stock springs AND spacers. (maybe not much less, but less anyhow)

For mechanical sake, I think the taller spring will allow more suspension travel or flex than a spacer would, as that 2 inches of spacer will not compress (again, not a hell of a lot of difference here, but some difference)

For cheapness sake, I would imagine that the cost of stock springs and the spacers is probably going to run you more than a set of taller springs together, so that is another advantage.

Score:

taller springs = 3
Spacers = 0.

go for the taller springs. and be sure to check the coil buckets to make sure they aren't rusted out or part of the sag issue because of rust.

the buckets are good. new coils from autozone are 85 and spacers are 30..... the cheapest lift coils I found were 150. listen to this, the local off road shop is Coopers Trucks and they want 340 for 2" lift springs and 100 for spacers, that's a hell of a mark up lol

well coils and spacers are looking a tad better :P

update for the score:

lift coils 2
spacers 1
