Trying to Get TRS-2 Back

That's a $1500 dollar truck imo. At most.

GB :)

Don’t run, don’t move, bad tires... scrap value + value of known good parts.

If the lift kit, wheels and lockers are good it might be about right. No flaming hot deal though

That's what I have tried to convey to Will. The only thing that might be good is the cab, axles, suspension, and wheels. Need to consider the value of it as 14 year old used parts, not what they cost new. Especially since we don't know if the motor runs. $1,500 is the same value I came up with.

It would be cool to see you get it back. But that is a lot of money depending on it's condition. If I had the time and if my plane was working I'd offer to fly you up there to check it out.

What area of Texas are you in now?

What does it cost to gear a pair of axles with 4.56s and put Detroits in them? Parts alone is over $1,500. If you had a 31-spline 8.8 lying around with the parts to install it. The lift kit including rear leafs is $2,500. You go through the whole truck like that, those are all things you would have to buy if you are going to build a new truck.

That's the way I look at it. If you are going to build another truck, this one puts you thousands ahead. If you are buying it to re-sell parts, $1,500 makes sense. Otherwise, there are plenty of stock Rangers out there with asking prices much higher than that one.

I don't look at it as new value. For all we know, those diffs could have sat for a long time with water in them. Even if I'm not parting it out, it's not worth anymore than the used parts. How much are you going to sell a Dana 35 for with a Detroit Locker and 4.56 gears? Few hundred bucks? You might have $800 in the locker and gears, but who's going to pay $800 for a Dana 35? If you're going to pay what the parts are worth new, you might as well buy new parts. Plus, suspension brackets have been known to crack. And the Skyjacker transmission crossmember gets cracks in the weld at the end of the tubes.

She's coming home.

Great, looking forward to hearing more.

Congratulations!

Great news Jim! :yahoo:

Well I'm glad you got one of the Rangers you wanted Jim. Looking forward to hearing the plan of action for her now. And if funds are a I'm sure there are those of us who would make donations for her resurrection. :yahoo:
