Raceranger's 4x4 Build

There was a dude- Matt- rockranger is his username on explorer forum- who made some weld it yourself cut out of 1/4” steel on a plasma table hangers for sale. I haven’t been able to get a hold of him though.

There is a bunch on DIY Offroad lots of different files you can purchase, then plasma out and weld yourself. I imagine you could send to something like send cut send if you don't have access to plasma table

Prep for the Rubicon run has me pressed for space. Getting tools out of the cab.

I keep thinking about converting to packouts but just can't pull the trigger.

They are so convenient.

I'd like to separate tools, spares, recovery. I've stripped down a lot on how much I carry but knowing I have a specific packout for things like fuses, relays and other small parts instead of digging in one big box is a huge plus

There's other options too, I have a friend that designed his wheeler to hold the Bauer boxes from harbor freight...

Back when I bought my RIDGID tool boxes... they were about a third of the cost of the packout stuff.

I'm not sure I'd trust the latches... or even people having everything out in the open like that.

i dont trust me not to smash them all to hell. i bust them just tied down in the bed.

The milwaukee ones are the only ones I've seen last with our techs, but that's what's got me hesitating

Welp, she’s as ready as she’s going to get for the Rubicon run. Ended up ditching the tent but keeping the rack, I have so much stuff packed in this little truck.

I personally like a ground tent over a rooftop tent.

I liked the idea of the rtt initially because I thought it would save bed space for more tools/spares, but I couldn't close it with as much stuff up there as I thought. With just the rack I can carry a big tent, cots and full size chairs while still keeping bed space open. Will be a more comfortable camp set up also.

Even a complete spare driveshaft...

I don't see a kitchen sink though.
