Trying for 35's?!?!

I am trying to fit 35 inch mud terrains. I have a 2003 ford ranger fx4. I just recently put it in a 4 inch suspension lift by super lift. Will I be able to fit 35's and will I have to change the gearing??

yes. 4.88 gears minimum. and no, 4" lift will not clear 35's. you will fit 33's fine, 34's may rub. 35's they will eat your fenders. I have 4" lift, and my 33's are CLOSE. like quarter inch close. you will also need a 8-10" wide rim.

put the lift in, crank the tbars, youll be fine, ive bin running 35s on about 4-5" of lift for the last year or so<, yes they do bang a fender every now or then but they fit

Yes, you can clear 35's (just barely) with slightly cranked torsion bars and a 4" lift.

No, you do not NEED to regear.... but it will help greatly. If you have a 3.0L, 4.88's and 4.0L 4.56's are fine.

Also if you wanted a little more clearance, you could throw on a 1"or 2" body lift

3" performance accessories body lift and you should have no rub.

I bought my body lift for $274 after taxes and it took 5hrs of easy install..

There is a guy in town on 37s. He did the superlift, 3"body lift and re gear. hes happy and it looks good. but he needs a ladder to get into it.

And personally id do the body lift before the re gear. thats what 4 low is for.... and once you decide you like them and your lift and they dont rub.... then re gear

this i don't agree w/ AT ALL... 4 low is for lower gear however, 4 low does NOT help you get that thing moving from a dead stop at a redlight.. i don't think that regear should be last on the list after larger tires.. guess that's personal opinion... but yeah
i have 3.73's and 33's now w/ a 4.0 and HATE IT on road... much less offroad. idk about yall but i don't expect to use 4low for a small hill climb....

regear it, just regear it... you'll HATE stock gears and 35's. just sayin'..

I hated stock 3.27 gears and 33s...I was slower than molases in wintertime

i agree. i have 32's with 3.73s. its a little sluggish from a dead stop but gets good highway mileage. only spinning about 2200 at 65. when i upgrade to 33's im gonna find an ex axle with 4.10s and swap out the front gears too. but im also gonna put a beefier cam in it for more torque. but anyway. if you are gonna put 35's on it, you need to regear. you will hate yourself and the truck and if you ever take it off road you will not have any crawling abillities.

You can fit but it will rub if you want to take it off the pavement. Hell I rub with an RCD & 3" bodylift.

4.88's for sure if you stick with 35's

Another vote for 4.88s w/35s.

I have 4.10s & 33s on mine (same as 4.56 & 35s) and though it is adequate, it's nothing spectacular.

For 35's I'd recommend a body lift as well and 4.88's.
