I've got to pull a trailer about 250 miles tomorrow morning. The last time I used the light kit they worked fine (magnetic harbor freight set)
After their last use, I put them up like normal and they haven't been disturbed in about 6 months. They were new before that.
I hooked them up to the ranger, the truck side (TS) plug was pretty stiff and I wasn't getting a good connection.
I replaced the TS plug with a quick-fix crimp version from autozone.
Now, the lights are as bright as they should be, the flashers work, but trying to use the right or left side blinker makes both flash at the same time and fairly dim, and when I press the brake lights the trailer lights go off, then come back on when I let go of the brakes. They look fine when the lights are on in a running position.
I made sure all the wires are going to the same terminals as the original plug.
Any ideas?
