truck pulsates when breaking

Hey folks, question for ya'll. I just finished replacing the rear shoes and drums (the front was done about 8 months ago, they're still like new), and I'm having a real weird problem.

The pedal feels fine, the truck stops fine, but as I'm breaking the truck feels like its pulsating (almost like the breaks are engaging and disengaging over and over, but softly). This pulsation isn't in the pedal.

The only thing I didn't do (either time I worked on the breaks) was bleed 'em. Since I didn't remove any lines or anything, I didn't think I had to.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what might be causing this? Its really annoying!

Thanks!
Lance

You can isolate it to a problem with the rears by applying the parking brake instead of the brake pedal. If you can't feel it, iyour problem s the fronts.

Keep your left hand holding the release while you use the PB. It's awkward.

So if it is the fronts, what could it be? Warped rotors?

i have a similar (kinda) problem with the front of my BII. it sounds like something is grinding when i come to a stop. had it checked by a shop and they didnt see anything wrong. i think it's something to do with wheel bearings, shocks or some sort of grease fitting....who knows, it only does it part of the time and i got other stuff to fix first.

i think you'd notice warped rotors by the steering wheel shaking while you braked. and yes, you shouldnt have had to bleed the brakes if you didnt disconnect any of the lines.

If its the front rotors, and they are warped, just have them machined. And make sure your lug nuts are torqued to 85, not 185. If you over tighten them, it will damage the brakes. And if you didnt remove any lines, you are correct you do not need to bleed them

my vote is warped rotors. check the wheel bearings while you're at it. and i believe the torque spec is 100 ft lbs on all rbv's. best to check and make sure though
