Truck flexes too much for duals

so do you think maybe now that there was a reason for the spring loaded ballsocket at the rear of the cat?

niether did mine.

and niether do my duals. i have a set of flanges that let me unbolt the exhaust from the downpipes for transmission removal, but they are clamped tight...no movement.

Oh yeah, only thing is... My truck never had one.
you're saying your factory cat had a flange joint on the rear? i bet it was cut off for that oversized setup

i've welded up a few ranger dual systems that cracked(late models too with the ball socket-one was a 3.0l wicked).most of the time its from an overenthusiastic exhaust tard(i mean tech, lol) putting on too many hangers so the exhaust won't move with the engine torque/frame flex.

thats a possibility. how many hangers did your system have UrbanRedneckKid?

ive got 3. one just behind each tip, and one right under the rear of the cab (right after my glasspacks) holding up both pipes.

The factory one right in front of the muffler, (2 bent rods that go into rubber hangers)
And one on each tailpipe as they go under the frame behind the shackles

Pretty much the same as the factory setup, just with the addition of another tailpipe, and without the front hanger thats by the cat attaching it by the trans.
