It has a habit of doing this? I mean, it's only 5 years old! :icon_confused: None of my 89, 90, or 92 trucks have left me on the side of the road in 7 years and 200,000 miles.

Either you got a lemon, or this is just proof of my theorey that new vehicle quality has DECLINED over the last 15 years.

That sucks you had to get it towed.

+1

My 95 has never let me down. What keeps going wrong with it?

Can't watch it. Is it studdering or what? Put a fuel pressure gauge on it and see what you get out of it.

Sounds like a gigantic vacuum leak. Can you pedal it to keep it going?

when the engine cools down does it start right up??? Check the fuel pressure at the rail and the pressure regulator!!!
Check out the fuel pump relay

my lincoln LS did that all the time. i could sit there and try to start it for 20 mins and it wouldnt stay running. but if i walked away for an hour and tried again, it started right up. it ended up being the fuel pump. what a pile!:annoyed: i feel your pain, you pay tens of thousands of dollars for something and it lets you down! you pay 500 bucks for a shitbox, and you cant kill it if you try!

i had the same problem with my ranger and no mechanic could figure it out because the fuel pressure gauge showed okay.i ended up swapping it as a last resort and it worked.i would imagine thats your problem on your ranger.
