Truck comes out of 4x4

[4.0 forever]

Hey I have a slight problem. I have a 1999 ranger xlt 4.0 pretty much stock. The problem I am having is when I put the truck in 4x4 high or low doesn't matter, it will work for about thirty seconds to a minute then disengage. The 4x4 light stays on, there isn't really any noise that I can hear. And when the 4x4 is working it works flawlessly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd guess your PVH hubs are leaking.
It is not an earth-shattering development (common, in fact).

Thanks for responding, I kinda figured that seeing that most problems are hub related. I actually bought the Rugged Ridge manual hubs and am going to install them this weekend. I hope that's all it is but just wanted to see if there is anything else it could be. Thanks again!
