Well I borrowed my mom's trailer to move a few months ago and ever since then it has been at my house and I keep finding uses for it. I also was in the market for a 2wd Ranger for a project and also so I could haul stuff. Well I have decided to wait a while on the Ranger since work has slowed down and I shouldn't spend the money on it. So I came across a Ranger bed on CL for $100 and decided to go for it. And after some constructive criticism from some of you guys on here, I decided to go with 2" square tube for the main frame, and use some left over HREW tube for the braces.

Here it is on my mom's trailer

And some work on the frame

And here it is sitting on it with bolts loosely attached to keep it in line

I must say my welds are getting much better

And here is an idea of what I am trying to accomplish

Thats a good start on your trailer. I toyed with the idea of using a Ranger bod for my trailer too. But they are hard to find around here. Instead, I am building one like this...

Looks good disciple. Any plans on using taillights in it for night use or just gonna leave it as a hauler?

I'll pick up some Ranger taillights, but only for brake/turn lights to keep it street legal.

I love having projects to do. Been steadily sealing off ever crack in my house as it's summer and it's human vs ant season. Lol
I'd love to have a trailer with an axle and bed fro
Ranger. I'd prefer a cut in half truck to play with but yours looks good.

Mock up of the A frame. It is going to be about a foot shorter for a total length of 4'. The blue thing is going to be a short piece of square tube for the receiver to mount to.

Gonna use a ball, pintle or max coupler hitch?

Planned on just a ball for now.

I planned on using the max coupler since mine will be used primarily offroad.

I'm not really sure the differences, but I do like slo-vo's swivel he has on his. I just don't think I will need it.

max coupler is great if you can afford it, and plan on using it for some good offroad stuff.
i plan on building a trailer also, but more like

b/c of hauling a 4wheeler... and don't really car for the bed trailers (unless pulled off properly, which i don't feel like doing... lol)

Probably do something like this so I can change it later, and so other people can use it if needed.

looks good cant wait to see it done.

max coupler is great if you can afford it
Pffffttt....pay $250 for a coupler I can make? I think not...I like its design, but I will make my own!

Nice work and good looking trailer.

You said you only wanted Brake and turn signals in your tail lights but a good set of Backup lights that work as normal or can be turned on manually are a plus.

When backing up with the trailer the truck’s BU Light are always getting blocked and you can’t see as well as you would like.

Nice work.
