Truck-Bed-Trailer-Camper

Here's mine I did from an '88 Ranger.

I have since put the same suspension as my truck with a sway bar, lifted the body 3", mounted the spare carrier forward of the axle and have it riding on 30's.

It is a bit of a sway back even with the sway bar. It was squirrelly once with a heavy load, I changed the tires and haven't had it happen again.

I am working on another trailer from a super cab, with the extra 18" it should be a little more stable.

Do you camp in it?

I have had it out once in that capacity, mostly used it as the chuckwagon as we always preferred to sleep out under the stars.

This one as built is not as good as a sleeper due to many of the reasons Alan mentioned above. If I put an adjustable 'foot' on the rear corners that would help, otherwise it has to be hooked to a truck to get inside.

I have the supercab frame cut for the next iteration of trailer experimentation. I think this one will be a bit more stable.

Thanks
Rich

I built one from a 7ft ranger bed and have plans to go from a tag behind to a gooseneck. Once it gets warmer out anyway.
