TRS Event TRS 25th Anniversary Fall Adventure - Land Between The Lakes - September 5th – 8th, 2024

That’s a lot more my speed, for basically the same thing in the older style. I like my style of mirrors anyway, I don’t feel the need to upgrade to the 2006+ mirrors.

For the wiring, are there (somehow) already turn signal wires in the door, or will I have to route back to under the dashboard to a harness?
Unfortunately, the Ranger was never offered with a turn signal mirror option, so no wiring in the doors. You can find both of the wires I mentioned under the dashboard on the left hand side. The hardest part of this upgrade is fishing the signal wires through the rubber boot between the door and the cab. A flexible plastic rod works really well for this. You can use a metal wire, but be sure to disconnect the battery to avoid shorting something.

That’s what I figured. At least the wires are somewhat easy to get to.

Yes, the wires are fairly easy to access. Although I prefer solder and shrink tube, a couple of ScotchLoks for each circuit would be an acceptable connection solution.

Honestly, I have pulled many wires through those rubber boots and it really isn't that hard to do.

I got signal!!!

Yes! Looks relaxing out there!

So, most likely the Choptop will not be following me down. There have been too many setbacks in getting stuff handled on the Ranger and I’m just flat running out of time. Theoretically it could still happen, but tomorrow will be the judge of that. Since I seem to have misplaced my magic wand, well…

At least the Ranger will be as squared away as possible. One way or another the bed will be on tomorrow. I’m not at all worried about running and driving, this was finishing some stuff that didn’t get done before I tried to make last year’s run and squashing some bugs in the system. If anything, it should run and drive better than before.

where are you guys at?
