TRS Event TRS 2025 Ranger Adventure

@Jim Oaks , thank you for the clarification. I suspected that was the answer. Unfortunately my Choptop is the only thing close to being ready enough in time and it is not a Ranger. I’d like to build a Ranger to do this kind of thing, but that is likely 2-5 years out at this point.

I have often gone camping with nothing special. Just throw my gear in the back of the truck and take off. I did that with the Superduty when I went to West Virginia this past October. And, honestly, up until recent developments, that is what I do with my Ranger. I am in the process of adding some more specialized luxury items. But I primarily just toss everything in the back and go.

I need to change how some stuff is organized and packed, which I intend to make happen this year. That will help some with packing for trips.

The Choptop is just really not fully set up. Mechanically it’s pretty sound at this point. There is still few things I need to deal with like fixing the front axle. But it’s not at all set up for an 8 hour highway trip and a few days of camping. There’s a lot that needs to happen to get to that point. My original intent with it was to be able to hit local trails (which now basically don’t exist but they did when I originally got it) and to be able to tow it to events farther away and use my tow rig as base camp. I don’t know how well I could configure it for an event like this, I would need to finish the cage and body work. But that was ruled a non-issue with this event being Ranger only.

It's an awesome area to explore. I'm looking forward to it for sure. Would be nice to convoy some Rangers around Eastern KY and show all them Yoters and Jeepers what's up haha

Dang. Maybe I can disguise my J**p as a Ranger?
I was honestly going to see if my Expedition was allowed. But I understand.

@PlumCrazy, we should go.
If @snoranger can pass off a Side by Side as a Ranger and I can pass off a Ford Edge as a Ranger, I would say you have a pretty good chance, even though the shame of owning a Fiat/Chrysler vehicle is kind of hard to hide...

This thing is ALL Ranger. See the Ranger emblem on the tailgate? See the Ford emblem on the front? See the bed full of brush, doing Ranger stuff? See the Fox piggyback rear shocks? This is basically a Ranger Tremor.
Just wait until I find a Bronco 2 body to chop up and graft onto this chassis.

Reading Jim's original post, it appears this will be an overlanding style event. He's discouraging trailering to the event. Plus, keep in mind this is on public roads. So it must be a properly registered vehicle with all necessary safety equipment - lights, turn signals, good brakes, windshield, etc.

define....."all"

I'll work on her as soon as I convince Amanda to name her new baby Allis.
