k, so background is I had a blown engine auto trans 88, and a good engine good 5speed trans, broken framed 88. running fine, just frame was literally bent in half.

so I obviously took the good running gear and put it in the good frame truck. its about ready to take for a spin, but I am getting no spark.

steps I have taken so far

1)checked and double checked all plugs and grounds
2)I have 12v at the coil, w key on
3)I tested the coil by itself by putting a 12v to the + and grounding the - and got spark out of the coil.

what should I check next?

Have the TFI checked.
are your plug wires good??
How about the wires from the coil back to the distributor??

at this point, the problem is more basic than plug wire. I dont even get spark rigt out of the coil. i took the whole coil off and tested it. I plugged a spark plug into the main wire on the coil and grounded it and got a spark. I have a spare tfi I guess I will put that on to test it.

I disconnected the harness at the tfi module, and grounded the terminal that goes back to the coil, and didnt get spark. green wire with yellow stripe. I went back to the coil and checked where it plugs in to the coil, and it was corroded. I cleaned up the negative side of the coil, and she started up.
