I have a problem with 5.o liter, that I swap inmy 1998 ford ranger.Almost everything works correctly except one o2 senosr. My SCT tells me P141 (o2 heater(htr-11) ckt (b1,s2)). I have replaced all my o2 sensors three times with brand new ones.Any help would very appreiciated thank you.:dunno:

i would check to make sure that the o2 sensor has 12volts going to the connector. If not you might wanna check that connector or related wiring. i believe it has 2 white wire and 1 black i'm not 100% sure on the colors. I believe the 2 white wires are suppose to be hot.

those wires will be hot with your key in the acc mode.

I apreciate the feed back.i tested for the connector for voltage and got 12.6 |Tomake sure im testing the right could you tell me if bank 1 is on the pasenger side?

Yes that is correct bank 1 is pass side....if you have 12volt there like you said..i'm thinking that your computer not receiving then hego signal..i would ohm out the hego signal wire going back to your computer.

I back traced the lead to the computer and there was no resistance. I did notice it was not where the chilton manual had it. It showed it at pin 60 but I found it on pin 15. looking at the connector with the holes facing you form right to left is how I thougth it goes but I could be wrong.

It would be nice if you had another computer just to try it just to see if its receiving the hego signal.

Yes it would be nice. I read someplace that bosch o2 sensors have a long warm up on the heater I dont know if its true or not the only thing else is to try another brand.

Late reply: It takes about 5 minutes for the 02 sensor to heat up (if it is getting 12VDC to the sensor thru one white wire with the key in the ON position/the other white wire should go to ground somewhere.....with a voltmeter set at 10 volts DC, the positive probe gets connected to the black wire/pin at the connector and the negative probe of the voltmeter should be grounded on the metal chassis/frame.....

the voltmeter should read somewhere between 0.1 VDC up to 1.0VDC once the 02 sensor is completely warmed up with the engine running...

(I just installed a bosch 02 sensor in the header on my V8 swap with the help/advice of other TRS members...it works great)
