im in the process of takin the D44 out of the 79 bronco, all i got left is the trac bar and the rad arms

the trac bar is a bitch and the bolt isnt coming off i dont care what anybody says, so i guess all i gotta do is cut through the mount, thats ok

now for the rad arms, the brackets are whats holding up the trans crossmember from what i can see, theres no other bolt soing to the chassis for the crossmember but the rad arm brackets. so i dont really wanna have to drop the trans xmember, so i was thinking abot unbolting the rad arms and taking off the brackets later if i need them

but the bolt on the rad arms isnt coming off either, im using a 15/16" ass end of the wrench, the end with the 12 points, and that bolt isnt coming off.

any ideas on what i should do? i really want to get this off tonight or asap
thanks guys

Well in that case, get a larger wrench.

the wrench is one of the largest i own, but al that happens is the rad arms twists a little bit, the bolts are rusted on since 1979 pretty damn good

Get an air chisel, and a lot of penetrating oil. Maybe even a big hammer to hit the bolt out. Remember young grasshopper, it will come out if you want it to but only if you really want it to.

young grasshopper, starting to get used a lot lately lol

and what do you mean by an air chisel? and what do you mean by hitting the bolt out:dunno: its just a stud sticking off the rad arms as far as i know

bolts

do you have torchs so you can heat the nut or place where the bolt goes in and it will come out

You don't have a breaker bar? Or an impact>?

thanks guys i used lots of gear oil and got the 2 nuts off that was on one side. the bronco is parked right next to the old maxda so i leaned up against the maxda and put my foot on the wrench under the bronco and pushed till i almost shit myself and it came loose, the inside one was even harder but it came out.

now on the other side, its only 1 nut, and its a 1 1/8" and i got a socket for that one so i stuck the socket on there and my cheater bar is only abot 10" so im gonna get a big dirrty one that comes out the side of her so i can stand up and pull with all balls

you may have a gym at home but apparently your not using it.

haha funny.

the passenger ****in side radius arm nut is so damn hard i almost blacked out and coughed up blood, i had my foot on it and pressing with whatever i had and the bitch isnt coming off. enough for tonight, i dont hve to work until sunday so ill go at it again tomorrow

One word. Leverage.

Get more of it.
