TREC Racer Home Made

Looks good, but why did you weld it to the part of the hitch that slides out?

Maybe its a removable dealio?

Maybe its a removable dealio?

Yep...so that if I have to DD this thing any more, I can pull the carrier out with 2 bolts and the pin and put my tailgate back on.

I got 4 of the 6 lights in the mail friday...I actually didnt realize out rules stated, rear facing amber that is key on, till last saturday. So I got 2 amber lens that are the same type coming. I went down to the supermarket today and picked up 2 7"x52" pieces of 1/8" sheet aluminum. Made my measurements and cut them out.

That all for today!!!

Whoop, Whoop...Just found out that I get to get off Unemployment and start a real job...I start with Norfolk Southern on May 2. I'm so excited to actually work again.

Sorry there was no update on the truck...Well sorta...Got an official word that Downsouth Motorsport dropped the ball on my shock parts so they 2-day aired them to me at no shipping cost. Makes me feel good about the fact that they will fix there mistake, and not at my cost!!!

Ive been dealing with 3 companies trying to get parts and so far Downsouth will be receiving all my business needs unless they just plain cant get something. Haven't had as good experiences with Ballistic or Poly. Ballistic and poly wouldn't return my phone calls and that is just unacceptable.

I should have some more pics of the Anger this weekend

Well I made my dead line and I was able to go race....I didnt get everything done that I wanted to get done, but I also cant complain about getting 2nd place either

It was such a awesome time. The Ranger really could not have much better than it did with so many variables.

I definatly was off on the shock valving but it was controlled pretty well...Front shocks were barely warm...There not working hard enough. Rear ones felt toasty. They too need stiffened up a little bit.

Here were some photos I snapped of it before we left

The final results...Clicky... http://badlandsoffroad.com/?do=page&id=22

Here a video I found that im in for a sec...

I start appearing around 2:55...At 1:19, well that was Rosco...and the guy behind him was Scooby...Both awesome guys that love doing this...Neither of them finished unfortunatly.

This is what happened to Scooby. If you watch close you can see a chunk of rim flying and end up next to the rear tire.

Im trying to get a spread sheet with the lap times.

Thats about it for now...

Our group stretched from the motorhome/red jeep all the way towards the end of that row with the red ranger and black Dodge Dually. On the shower side of your guys' campsite. The ones that asked if you were going to drive it to work on Monday. LOL

Congrats on the finish. Good to see a Ranger out there racing.

Finish is what we were aiming for...Thats all I wanted and I got a 2nd place...you cant beat that. Out of 32 racers in variouse classes, only 16 finished...Its really rough stuff

thats pretty cool, I didn't know they had races like that at the badlands.

In this video...at 30 sec you can see me let a faster vehicle past going into the sand bowl...and then you see me ahead of the same buggy who just over took me b/c he missed the up hill portion of this section...once he finally got going again, he overtook me quick but it just shows how quickly stuff can go array
