Treadwrights came in

that makes me never want to order there tires. i was thinking about getting a set for the g.fs explorer but not now i would never live with myself if one of them came apart and something happened to her i wont even get them for my truck for the fact that she might drive it.

I wasnt really to worried about it. I read and read and read and read about these things. It was hard to find a bad review on them. Everyone who had them loved them. Including people on TRS. I feel that I may have just gotten the one of the few defective tires. We'll see what happens when I get my replacement. I still have the two on the back.

I wouldn't worry about. This is actually the first time i have even read of someone having a defective tire from them. They are a good company with quality products :icon_thumby:

they retread their tires differently from other places. if you watch their videos the way they make their tires is almost identical how they make regular tires he just happened to get a bad tire. think about it there are a lot of vehicles on the road that run retreads and you dont hear to many stories of people getting hurt over having them

I filed my warranty claim on friday and my new tire was shipped out on monday. I am very impressed with the customer service of Treadwright.

Mount those blocks up yet?

I can't remember if I panted them for you or not, it's rustoleum black with a hammered finish if it I did. I used the same paint on my drums but in grey and it's held up well.

Koda and Deviant, Im going home from college this thursday to get all my hunting stuff together to bring back with me and im leaving my truck at home for the High School auto class to install the spacers and blocks for me. They'll have it for a few weeks since I wont be back home til probably October sometime.

Koda, Im afraid the coil spacers may not give me all 3" of lift in the front like they claim on the internet, and if they dont the blocks would probably give me more rake than I want. So ide probably go with some 1 or 2 inch ones for now. But the 2.5's will go on in the summer when If i get new spindles. And you did paint them for me, looks good, thanks.

There will be pictures up as soon as possible.

And for a note to everyone, Those treadwrights I got are loud as all get out!

Just an update.

After getting the replacement tire from treadwright for the defective tire I have put a happy 3500 miles on them with no problems yet. They are wearing very even and have quieted down alot.

I was wondering about what happened to you on the tires.

I just will not buy anymore tires from this retread place. I am glad they helped you out and made it right. Several years ago they gave me a refund. It had to do with a blown out right rear tire on the VW Baja bug I built and gave to my littler sister. She was expecting a baby and was 4 months pregnant when that tire blew out. A two week old tire that should not have blown out. They gave me the money back for all tires and the mounting and balancing and that paid for another set of new tires and fixed the glass right rear fender that was shattered to hell. The bug lifted up on two wheels and for some reason (sisters Angel) the bug came to rest on a guard rail and stoped with the left side of the bug in the air. But....for me...I will never buy these tires again. I will only buy new tires and I can get tires for a great price here anyways since I have friends that work for a few tire places...this helps.

Thats completely understandable. I havnt had anymore problems with them but I am still uneasy knowing they are retreads. I think this summer I may try to sell them to someone locally and get some money back. I really wanna get some Kumho MT lt71 tires. They make them in a 205/80R16, which is what I want. But that size is almost impossible to find except online.

No matter what kind of product you buy, once in a while you can end up with a defective one. I for one am not afraid to run retreads at all. My dad ran them on his work beaters every winter (and a lot of summers too) for 30+ years and almost never had issues with them. Plus he drove 70+ miles every day. I've also run them in the winter on my junk when they were significantly cheaper than new winter tires. The only issues I ever had were a slight shimmy that rebalancing didn't take care of, and one in a set of 4 that I got for free had a broken steel belt. And, all those tire chain retreads looked like shit compared to quality of the treadwrights we have on our pos S10 now.

We just ordered a set for my moms econoline, no problems yet.

What did you pay for them? I just got a set of 33x12.5x15 BFG KO tires for my little sisters Jeep last month. I have a friend whose dad is a tire dealer and he got me the tires for $138 each. Total with mounting and balancing was $660. I thought that that was a good deal for brand bew tires. When I bought my last set for my Ranger the same tires then were $128 each. So they cost me $10 more now a tire. My buddy said that tires prices are going to start going way up now that oil cost has gone sky high!! I bet that the tires I just got at his cost will be about $160 or more a tire at his cost. Darn!!!!

Some people put price over safety every time. I'm glad she was OK but I always think of safety first, even if it costs 50% more.
My nephew bought a set of Primewell tires (Made in China) for his Focus. I took his car to BJ's Wholesale and bought him a set of Michelin Harmonys.
Paying a cheap price for tires won't mean a thing if you have a blowout at 75 mph and a Fully Loaded dump truck runs over you!
