got a 83/85 4x4 project. got a cab off a 85 ranger. everything works, the fan and all. but its got no a/c. theres lots of rangers and explorers in my local junk yard, and like to transplant stuff. rite now the interior is gutted, and i got the dashboard out of my truck, and the cab aint on the frame yet, perfect time to do some transplanting i guess.

here wat i think ill need,

a/c pump with hoses, condenser,
the heater box that is in 2 pieces, under the hood and under the dash, and the wiring harness and controlls .

any one got a wiring diagram or know how i would wire this up and make it work?? and what year vehicle i should get this from??

thanks!

Well, the good part is that it is a literal "bolt on". You need the switch panel and the wiring on it, the underhood part of the HVAC box, hoses, drier, compressor, and condenser and the brackets, of course. If happen to find the underhood parts still together, you can actually pull them out as a single unit. I have one sitting in the garage to go on my 84 BII. While you have the box removed, this would be a really good time to open it up and remove the leaves and other junk that is most likely in it. Make sure to pull the fan, clean that spot out, and then "split" the evap. section open and clean it also. Reassemble, and then install.
Oh, yeah. The system from a 1st gen is the best one to use, as the firewall is the same, as is the HVAC box
