Transmissions shot shit😞

Hey everyone I need a little schooling please. I have a 2000 ford ranger 4x4 3.0 4r44e.
My trans started slipping and shuddering yesterday. I've found a few 4r44e transmissions but they are 2wd. What mods would I need to use the 2wd trans? Thanks

You have to tear down the 2wd transmission completely to install the 4x4 components to convert the 2wd to a 4x4 transmission. So you might as well rebuild the trans you have.

If you want to try something to limp you through, go pour some Lucas Transmisison Fix in it and see what happens. It's not cheap for that small bottle, but sometimes it works wonders, sometimes it doesn't do anything. But I have been impressed with it a few times.
