What is the best automatic to put behind a 2.3 turbo charge engine out of a 1988 Thunderbird turbo coupe and is it hard to do, i have the complete car to use for parts. Thanks

Probably a built C4, or a ruggedized A4LD. Either should be available to bolt up to the 2.3 with no problem. It will not be cheap. I don't know that a C6 or the 4R44, or 5R series were built to attach to the 2.3.
You could search car dash parts dot com for a replacement auto for a turbo T-bird and see what they come up with. The parts shown should be workable, but you might need some sort of computer to run them.
