I have a 93 ford ranger 4.0 with an automatic transmission. I just replaced the motor with another 4.0. The motor runs strong but now the tranny wont go into any gears. I can hear the rpms change as I go through the gears but somethings not catching. I've ran it for a while to see if the torque converter needed filled but there is still nothing. It worked before I replaced the motor. Any ideas?

Make sure your fluid is all the way full. A4LD's are notorious about not moving once the fluid goes down a bit. Or they take like 30 seconds sometimes just to engage when you put it in drive.

I've done that, I've even over filled it to see if the torque converter was to low and still nothing.
