Transmission rough when coming into or out of idle

I just bought a 2000 Ford Ranger. It has an automatic transmission. It seems to shift fine, doesn't flare RPM's when going from 1st to 2nd and up through to overdrive...in fact the transitions feel fairly smooth. However, after I got it, I noticed that right after I have just stopped, the transmission feels a little rough transitioning to idle. The same is also true for transitioning from idle to motion. What is the most likely cause of this or am I headed for transmission rebuild?

May I add that it feels like the transmission is shifting right as the truck is completely stopped.
