Transmission replacement question and driveline question?

I have CV drivelines. If I replace my transfer case to a manual TC I lose one side of match marking. Will the CV driveline still work with a manual TC? Is there much to service on the CV driveline when I take it off? Are the CV drivelines ok? Are they strong enough for the occassional medium four wheeling experience?

The CV-style drive shaft will work with a manual T-case. They are junk though. Easy to replace the boots, but the splines in the tulips like to strip out.

Also, "drive line" refers to everything from the transmission to the rear axle. The piece you are talking about is a "drive shaft".

Yeah, having the flange marked isn't important. You should be fine just bolting it up.

+1 on the CV driveshaft though, I'd swap it out for a double-cardan u-jointed shaft even for just street/poor-weather use.
