Sort of a dumb question.
How does the trans come out easiest? 89 Bronco II 4x4 A4LD
I have a leaking front pump seal. When I dropped the pan to see what I could see, I found a lot of friction ring material and the fluid glistened like gold. I'm thinking that's a bad sign
I've got another trans I'm going to put in for the time being, and I want to do a M5OD swap before winter...so largely this is a test run.
The engine is strong, but I need to replace my rear main gaskets and valve cover gaskets. I let the car sit for four years and they dried out.
My question....should I drop the trans from beneath the car, or disconnect everything and pull it out, still connected to the engine. I figure in the latter, I can replace the gaskets I need replaced and kill two birds with one stone.
Just not sure if the engine trans combo will come out easy from the front. I don't mine cutting out the upper core support if necessary, I can weld it back in.
