Hi guys, I looked int he tech section but wasn't sure of the answer to my question as it didn't list engine sizes for the trans. Anyways, will a tk5 out of a 4x4 work in a 85 Ranger 4x4 4cyl (2.3L)? Thanks!
No, different bell housing bolt arrangement.
BUT, the TK5 did come on some 2.3's, so if you can find a 2.3 bell housing for a TK5 you can change it out and be in good shape.
The bell pattern is exclusive to the 2.3l. I don't know about the older ones but my 94 ranger has a 5 speed 4x4 2.3l set up. The 90's trannys will work but you have to run a hydraulic clutch.
